Arne Uebel: Taking Aerial Photographs Without a Plane Arne Uebel´s panoramic photographs give an insight in the various facets of the unmanageable dimensions of Istanbul. Those Aspects often seem to be hidden behind the prevalent panorama of the Bosphorus. His long photographs are composed realities showing outskirts of Istanbul. Here it becomes visible what is about to vanish and what is about to rise in future. Once, in order to get an overview of the urban development, panorama photographers used to let cameras fly with balloons and let them shoot panorama views. Arne Uebel chooses a perspective from below to overview the potential of the constant shift of the marginal areas.
